Going Afraid

Nov 22, 2020    Pastor Jeanay Floyd

Often times it is difficult for a believer to admit that they are afraid. As a believer we understand the Bible says: For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you. “ Isaiah 41:13 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9. There are moments and seasons that come up, where the direction and instructions of God has caused me to say I’m ready, but my flesh kicks in and I become afraid. Often times as a disciple we want to operate in comfort and not commitment. If we as a body are looking to grow and disciple others, I believe it is essential for us to spend sometime in the book of Acts. In Acts we find the founding and growth of the church. Without Acts we would know nothing about the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, the martyrdom of Stephen, the life of the early Jerusalem church or the way the Gospel first came to the Samaritans and Gentiles.
