Reflection and Expectation

Disciples tend to exist in two realities simultaneously; our Reflection and our Expectation. The trick to being effective for God is to embrace this dualism instead of fighting it. Trying to address one or the other will allow complacency and much struggle. The Church often makes the first Apostles and Disciples appear to be almost like super heroes, when in fact they simply embraced the dualism of being a Disciple of Christ. Our Reflection is cast in sin and disobedience. This is not only who we were. This is who we are. Simultaneously we are the children of God through love and grace. Redeemed from our Reflection by an Exception of existing in eternal relationship with God. Embracing this dualism begins by acknowledging the truth of both realities through truth and faith.
