Death Before Pouring

Many of us cannot grow spiritually because we are trying to do so without dying. We are trying to negotiate a merger between our old self and new self. We want to keep some parts; some plans; some desires. God is all or nothing. In order to negotiate we would need some leverage. God holds all of the cards. We are redeemed on God’s terms – no negotiation. Death is the only way into new life.
